As it’s pancake day I decided to make some American style pancakes! They’re light, fluffy and incredibly tasty. Check out the recipe below.
180g Plain Flour
1 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Baking Soda
2 Beaten Eggs
1 tsp. White Sugar
First you want to sift the flour, salt, baking soda and sugar together in a bowl. Then pour in the milk and eggs, whisk well. The batter should be quite thick.
Heat the frying pan to a medium-high heat, add a knob of butter (optional). If you don’t have a good non-stick pan I would recommend using the butter. Pour a small ladle of the batter mix into the pan.
If using the blueberries add a few after a couple of minutes. Once the batter is bubbling across the pancake, carefully flip it and fry for another minute or so.
If using the chocolate, simply wait for the pancake to bubble and flip it. then serve with the grated chocolate.
Serve with honey or maple syrup and enjoy!!
Another great serving suggestion is bacon and maple syrup. Simply cook off some bacon (streaky if you want to go authentic), remember to make it nice and crispy! Then serve it with the pancakes; this makes a great weekend breakfast/brunch!!
